Integrating via the device API
Legit.Health is integrated as the app (iframe), with its API, which tells your system when a report is ready and hands it to your backend as JSON, HL7 FHIR or PDF.
The medical device behind the app also has an API of its own. Integrating through it is perfectly possible, but it puts the work the app does on you:
- The mandatory interface. The instructions for use require any interface that shows the device's results to show the top five, the referral recommendation, the malignancy gauge, the six safety indicators, the regulatory label and access to the electronic instructions for use.
- The rest of the output. The image quality check, the entropy, the capture instructions and the severity scores become yours to handle.
- The app's own features. The AI assistant, the PDF, the patient mode, the patient questions and the languages are lost, or have to be built.
- The cost. The app's usage is counted per report. Called directly, every call to the device counts on its own, and one assessment takes several calls.
The technical reference is in the installation manual of the instructions for use, and the implementation page explains each point and when it makes sense.
