Improving Diagnostic Accuracy in Dermatology Through Artificial Intelligence: A Pilot Study in Primary Care

In primary care, physicians often face uncertainty when diagnosing skin conditions. By integrating Legit.Health into their workflow, accuracy rose by nearly 13%, giving doctors more confidence and patients quicker answers.

The tool proved especially powerful in challenging cases like pustular psoriasis, urticaria and hidradenitis suppurativa, where detection rates soared. What once created doubt became opportunities for earlier intervention and smarter referrals.

APASI: Automatic Psoriasis Area and Severity Index with AI-driven quantification

For decades, PASI scores have been the gold standard in psoriasis—but also a source of subjectivity and variability. With Legit.Health, photographs are transformed into objective PASI scores in seconds, aligned with dermatologist assessments.

Segmentation accuracy above 84% demonstrated that AI can turn what used to be a time-consuming, inconsistent task into a reliable benchmark for both clinical practice and trials.

ALUDWIG: An AI-Based Automated Assessment of Female Androgenic Alopecia

Female androgenic alopecia is notoriously difficult to measure consistently. Our AI brought objectivity to this field, turning smartphone images into standardized severity assessments.

By reducing variability compared to manual Ludwig scoring and ensuring alignment across cases, this innovation opens the door to more reliable monitoring in daily practice and more solid endpoints for research.

ALADIN: Acne Lesion And Density INdex. A Novel Tool for Automatic Acne Severity Assessment

Acne is often graded with dozens of scoring systems, none universally adopted. With ALADIN, Legit.Health introduced a new way forward: an index that blends IGA and GAGS, capturing not just lesion count but also their density and overlap.

This richer perspective delivers a scoring system closer to the real burden of acne. It empowers dermatologists to track progression more consistently and gives clinical trials a reproducible measure to evaluate treatments with confidence.
