Asturias Public Health Service Taps Legit.Health's AI to Speed Up Skin Cancer Diagnosis and Reduce Dermatology Wait Times

October 18, 2025 - The Health Service of the Principality of Asturias (SESPA) today announced a landmark initiative to integrate Legit.Health's artificial intelligence (AI) platform into its primary care network. The project, coordinated by Telefónica Tech, will equip general practitioners with advanced AI-powered tools to enhance diagnostic accuracy for dermatological conditions, including psoriasis, dermatitis, acne, hidradenitis and skin cancer, aiming to drastically reduce patient wait times and improve early detection rates.
This strategic deployment will empower primary care clinicians across Asturias to make faster, more informed decisions at the point of care. By leveraging Legit.Health's CE-marked AI technology, which provides objective severity assessments and diagnostic support, SESPA aims to streamline the referral process, ensuring that specialists can focus on the most critical cases. This is expected to alleviate the current backlog for dermatology appointments and lead to better patient outcomes.
